Long Time No Blog

I haven't blogged in a very long time. This was because of many things.

Since my last blog, a few interesting things have happened.
I am now a full time student at:

I've enjoyed it a lot. It's sometimes stressful, I do miss my job, but I feel like I'm learning some important things.

I also went to a Tennessee Vols football game for the first time in my life. (also slightly old news) It was a blast.

My brother Josiah also came down to visit us in September. Here are all of my brothers and I, plus my niece Emily.

I also made the difficult decision to stop playing at Psalm Sixty Six. I love playing there, but with homework, youth services, and classes I felt it was just too much to take on at once. I'll still visit there whenever I can.

And that mostly sums up my last few weeks. With college and all I probably won't be blogging nearly as much as I used to, but I'll try to update it at least every once in a while. Well, gotta go!

Back From Indiana

Thursday Evening my sisters Esther & Leah went with me to visit my cousins in Indiana.
I had a lot of fun. This is me with my cousins.
from left to right: Sarah, Me, Mercy, & Hannah.

After church we took this picture. The guy in the middle is a really nice guy who we now have claimed as our "grandpa".

Us with the pastor. (a really nice guy who can really preach well)

This would be my cousin Hannah right after blowing a humungous bubble.

These are the medium ice-cream cones at a local Dairy Barn. (I haven't yet saw the large)

My cousin Hannah playing the piano.

We were at this thrift store & they just had to try on these crazy glasses.

On Saturday we went shopping. Personally I don't really mind shopping, but 6 hours of it has me about dead.

(not to mention broke)

All in all I had a great time, spent too much money, & even got to help lay some brickwork.

Hello From Indiana

Last night after work my sisters Esther & Leah & I drove to Indiana. It was a pretty good drive, but very long. I like listening to music, but Esther wasn't in the mood. But, now we're here, & everything's cool. Last time I was here they were just starting to build their house & now all that's left is to finish it. Well, I'd better go. (sorry, no pictures, I'm using their computer.

Monday, August 07, 2006

The last two weeks I haven't blogged much. It isn't because I've had nothing to blog about, but that I've been really busy. I haven't blogged about it at all. Also I've finally got everything ready for college. It's amazing how much goes into it.
Taking ACT, Registering, Scheduling Classes, Paying for Classes, Buying Books. But the thing is I know the hard part is yet to come.
My sisters Esther & Leah went with John Mark, Toby, & Whitney to a tent revival in Virginia. I wanted to go, but I have work & with only 21 days until college I kind of need to save my money. They should be getting back tonight. Tonight I have practice at Psalm Sixty Six, so that's always fun. Well as all good (or bad, depending on your opinion) things must end, here is the end of this post.

This is one of the funniest videos that I've watched in forever! (unfortunately whoever uploaded this video deleted it.) Oh well!

Deer & Flat Tires

Saturday was great! In the morning I got up early and went to a car auction. All the cars went for way to much, but that was OK because I need to save money for college anyways. My current car works alright, but has a big dent in it. (thanks to me falling asleep)
Later on I ate at a new BBQ place called EZ-BBQ. OK so the name is lame & the place is tiny (we were the only customers) but they have good BBQ. (although my brother Josh disagrees)
Next we watched a new movie called Monster House. OK get this: Picture someone making a movie about a haunted house. Pretty normal right? Now make it an animated cartoon. I figured it would be really stupid, but it was actually great. (although it definately wasn't scary)
Monday after work I practiced with a local worship group called Psalm Sixty Six. Right after I left there my tire went flat. I pulled over & realized I had a 1" long slit in it. The way I figure either I ran over something right after leaving ps66 or someone slit it. Oh well, such is life.
First I checked my spare. It was flat. Then I pull out my handy mini air compressor & try to air it up. No luck. My spare tire seal was broke. Next I pull out....... Fix-a-Flat. OK I'm smiling now. No more problems. Fill it up and get on with life. After shaking for 30 seconds I attach it and push the button. After a couple seconds........BOOM! The top of the Fix-a-Flat blows up. Just great! Here I am with a spare tire, an air compressor, Fix-A-Flat (going all over the place) and my tire still flat as a pancake. Some days are meant to be tough. Finally I use the small air compressor to get enought air in the tire to get it to Walmart. The tire part is closed. Josh finally gets to Walmart and picks me up.
Then on the way back a deer runs in front of the car & we have to brake hard to miss it.

Morals of the story:
1. make sure your spare tire isn't flat
2. don't count on Fix-A-Flat
3. hmm......do I really have to have a third moral?

Pirates & Green Thumbs

This weekend was good. On Thursday I went & watched Pirates of the Caribbean 2. It was a pretty good movie with plenty of interesting monsters, fights, & PIRATES (duh) . What I didn't like was the ending. The end of every movie should have something beginning, something ending, and maybe something continuing. This movie was like building up suspense, then not finishing what you started. (just my opinion, it seems some people disagree.)
Now, on to the green thumb. Saturday Mom realizing she had lots of extra cucumbers decided to make pickles. Me being the nearest person, she had me cut them up into spears. It was fairly easy work, but a couple minutes after I finished, My thumb & fingers started getting hard. Then green. Then crackly. It was very disturbing. One of my brothers even mentioned that I might be turning into Hulk, but I assured him that while I might sometimes have the urge to beat him up, only my thumb & fingers were turning green. (then I proceeded to beat him up) just kidding!

Act Test!!!

Yesterday (Thursday) I took the ACT test. I've been kind of worried about it, because of the fact that since I graduated last year I haven't done any Algebra since. Saturday I spent like 4 1/2 hours trying to refresh my memory. (Yawn..) So anyways after all was said and done I got a 26! Thank You Jesus! At this point it looks like I'll definately be going to Cleveland State College this Fall. All to do now is set up the class schedules.
This week has been busy (made sort of obvious by the fact that I haven't blogged till now)
Saturday we had a good service at Psalm Sixty Six. Sunday we had a great service at church. After church Sunday we went to eat at Fazoli's (did I spell that right?)
Overall, this was a very good week. (except for the 4 1/2 hours of Algebra)

Feel like 19

I recently got an interesting letter in the mail. on the front it said:
Now there's only one thing about that: I'm 18. Now why on earth would I want to drink an energy drink that would make me feel one year older? Oh well, the things people will try to sell you these days.
Last night we went skating. I haven't been in forever, so it was a lot of fun, even if there was only a few people there. Also they let me play like my entire Kutless, Hearts of the Innocent cd, so that was cool. Well, duty calls!

4th of July

This 4th was great. First I slept in until 11:00. That in itself makes a day amazing. Next I ate a BLT. That was GOOD!!! Next I got things done I really needed to do. (cleaning room, vacuuming, polishing shoes, that type of thing) not so fun. Next I lay around the house doing absolutely nothing for a couple hours (what fun!) Then Dad grilled ribs & chicken on the BBQ (oh yeah!) Next I was lazy for an hour or so, then went to church & had a great service. After that 15-20 of the young people went to watch fireworks at Walmart. The fireworks were good, but I must say the company was better! Next I went to bed. Yawn!!

PA Worship Team "The Happy Song"

Justin Paine brought his worship team with him from PA. "The Happy Song" was recorded live on June 22, 2006.

Sunday we had a baptism at our church. Or actually I guess it was at the river.
Now I'm sure some people reading this probably don't believe like I do, but I believe in baptism in Jesus' name.

Act 2:38 "Then Peter said unto them, Repent,0 and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
This is my brother Seth getting baptized.

This is my sister, Glory at the baptism. Thanks to Rick for sharing it with me.

Jesus is awesome!

Last night Jesus really showed up at campmeeting. I didn't get to be at the alter as much as I would have liked because I was playing the drums, but I still really felt God's presence.
This is my view from the drums. (my flash reflected too much on the drum shield)

This is me with my cousin Sarah after the service. Her, my other cousin Hannah, & my aunt Susan
came down from Indiana for Campmeeting.

This is our food servers. The had to wear bonnets & will probably kill me if they find out that this picture made it to my blog. (oh well, the things one must go through)

This is a picture of my pastor Anthony Wynn with our bass player Paul. You can visit my pastor's website Here

Cars hate me!

I recently posted a picture of my car, after having ran into a guardrail. Then just last week I was riding with my brother Elijah when a semi-truck ran us off the road and smashed the right side of the car off! My other brother Josh says he should start driving himself to work, it would be safer. The only problem is, his car is messed up. My with life the way it is lately, you wonder what to do.

The one good thing that's going on this week is Youth Camp. I'm not getting to stay during the day, but the night services are amazing! God is really doing a work. My pastor's nephew brought his worship team down from Pennsylvania to lead worship on Tuesday. The have an awesome drummer. I plan to upload a video of him playing the drums for one of the songs. God has really blessed him with this talent. Tuesday morning he came & tuned up the drums how he liked them. I played before he did & well, lets just say I wasn't used to playing that way. Anyways, this week has been great so far, & God is really moving.

Vine Swing

This is me preparing to swing on one of the grapevines in The Valley. (note previous post)

As weeks go......

This weak was great!!

Monday was Memorial Day, so no work.
First I slept in till 11:00.
Next I ate a large breakfast.
Then I went up into The Valley. You might say, why call a certain valley "The Valley". First of all it's humoungous, second it's only couple miles from our house, and third it's amazing. It sometimes makes it hard for me to relate to preachers which use valleys in messages as gloomy, depressing places in life. The Valley is a beautiful, green, amazing place with tall trees, luscious grass, clear streams, and long grape vines which are great fun to swing on. It's hard to climb up to The Valley, but once you're there, you never regret it.
Then I went with Josh to help at the church.
After that we road four-wheelers. It was a blast! I haven't rode one in forever, and they have sweet trails there.

Tuesday-Thursday - work

After work I went with some people at our church to my friend Caleb's church. It was a couple hours away so it was rather tiring. We had a great church service, and ate at IHOP afterwards.

I went with a couple friends to watch a movie. Then we went back to my house to play vollyball. It was fun but I had to cut it short in order to practice for Psalm Sixty-Six

Eat, Church, Eat, Church, Work, Eat, Sleep (short version)

Well, I've gotta go!!!

A Closeup of the rear of my car

New Car Dent

This would be my car as of today. Yesterday I was driving to work when I dozed off. Not a good idea! I went off the highway, woke up, swerved back onto the highway, hit the guardrail and regained control. Thank God for protecting me! I have learned a lesson: when driving 1 hr to work early in the morning get more sleep. I'm thankful it wasn't worse.

Live on J103

This is our local christian radio station, J103. They set up a booth and broadcasted live from out front.

Indian Angels

This is another band that played the same time as us, called Indian Angels. Their drummer was good, but it wasn't really my type of music. (think like 80s hippy style) We played on the same stage later on, but Nemo (Nehemiah) didn't get any pictures because we were on stage.

Psalm 66

This weekend has been CRAZY!!!!
First I went to a graduation. It was so jam-packed I had to stand up. Then I went to downtown Athens across from the courthouse. It was The Beanery's (a local coffeshop) 1rst aniversery, and I was playing with a band I just joined, Psalm 66. (I've mentioned them in the past)

Let the kids decide!

I recently read a great post on Liss' Blog Here. The first story is great, and the second and third ones about made me laugh myself to death!

How Do You Decide Who to Marry?
"You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like if you like
sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep
the chips and dip coming."
--Alan, age 10
"No person really decides before they Grow up who they're going to
marry. God decides it all way before, and you get to find out later
who you're stuck with.quot;
--Kirsten, age 10

What is the Right Age to Get Married?
"Twenty-three is the best age because you know the person
FOREVER by then.
" --Camille, age 10
"No age is good to get married at. You got to be a fool to get
--Freddie, age 6

How Do You Spell "busy" in Spanish?

Spanish for busy
1. Engaged in activity, as work; occupied.
2. Sustaining much activity: a busy morning; a busy street.
3. Meddlesome; prying.
4. Being in use, as a telephone line.
5. Cluttered with detail to the point of being distracting: a busy design.

This weekend was cool.
Saturday I went to my sister-in-law Angel's graduation at Cleveland State. (I was impressed enough with the place to request an application) They had several several represenatives there, including Congressman Zach Wamp. He was kind of cool, and told a great story about monkeys. I especially liked the fact that even when in a public goverment funded college he talked about God. I took some pictures, but I forgot to bring the camera with me.
Saturday night I went to Psalm 66 Their drummer wasn't there, so I ended up playing the drums. It was fun. From our church Toby, John, Whitney, Micah, & I went. Sunday morning Brother Anthony preached a great message on "Keep Knocking". Sunday Night, his dad Brother John Wynn preached on "The Shepherd's Song". I don't think I've ever seen a more joyfull preacher.

I just bought a digital video camera, and soon plan to have a vlog (video log).
Look for this soon

To wrap it up

April was the busiest month I've had in a long time. To wrap it up:
Tim's B-Day party, Sister Vaughn's wedding, Esther & My B-Day party, Family came in from Florida & Arizona, Glory's B-Day party. (plus church, work, Youth Service, and other weekly stuff) It has been a very good month, although kind of stressful. Yesterday I was so tired I didn't even stay very long for our April church B-Day party. A while back I posted simulations of a model house I'm working on. I should be able to post pictures of it's progress Wednesday.
Well, better go. (this post is so boring I'm sure you've quit reading by now anyways)

Wednesday, April 26, 2006

Andy asked me to share a testimony on faith at Youth Service, so I thought about it a while & here's my thoughts on it:

In 1 Peter 1:7 it says:
"That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ"

God tests us to see how much faith we have. The tests we go through often seem like they'll kill us bring honour to God. When we come out of a storm, not only is our faith made stonger, but God gets honour in us doing it. Sometimes when I go through things, I only think of myself.
God not only cares that I make it though a storm, He wants me to keep the faith, be cheerful, & trust Him through it. When I do this, it brings Him glory & honour.

I didn't actually talk about this. About 1 minute before time to talk I decided that I should concentrate more on faith. It's still a good point, but it's not so much about faith as faith bringing glory to God.

Teeth brushing.

Another picture of strange creatures.

Big mouth of cake!

Lighting the candle.

Bro. Bill & Sister Zilpha Coleman just married.

Ah! this is them trying to feed applesauce blindfolded. (I'll put up more pictures as I get them)

Me with my 4 month old nephew Benjamin

Busy as a B-day

This weekend I relearned the meaning of busy. Shalom & my nephew Benjamin came in from Arizona, & Josiah, Anna, my niece Emily, & Carmella came in from Florida. Friday I put together nine sign posts for Sister Vaughn's (or now Coleman's) wedding. Saturday morning I got up at 7:00 and put them out all over the place, then went to Goody's to buy a shirt & tie. 10:00 I got home, took a shower. At about 11:00 I went to the wedding early to start the slideshow. The wedding was amazing, even anointed. I was upstairs printing out DVDs & VCR labels, so I missed some of it, but what I saw was awesome. It was a great example of what God can do if you wait on Him. After the wedding, we went down to the Oasis Building for the reception. That was the best food I ever had at a wedding. About 3:00 I went to the house, cleaned up a bit, & painted the lines for volleyball. About 3:45, I realized that I'd forgotten ice! By the time I got back, there were quite a few people there. We played vollyball (or more mudball). We then played a game where several people try to feed another person applesuace blindfolded. It was sort of messy. Then we gave them complimentary toothbrushes (new, never used) with which to brush their friends teeth. It was great fun. I took some pictures, which I'll put up as soon as they're developed. I''ll go ahead & put up a few pictures of the wedding & relative I already have. Well, gotta go, God bless.

My Sister Shalom Visits

Thursday, my sister Shalom flew in from Arizona with my four month old nephew Benjamin. It was the first time I'd got to see him so it's pretty cool. (He already likes playing the drums). Saturday I went to youth service. Ford, Candace, & Priscilla Ector came for the first time. We had a blast & the service was really anointed. Sunday church was packed out. I ended up parking way behind the church. After church I went with Toby, Daniel, John Mark, Anthony and Kristin (Ducky) to Whitney's apartment for pizza. We watched "Chronicles of Narnia". (sweet movie)
Well, better go.
